Billie Joe Armstrong ha dichiarato, qualche mese fa, che la band si è presa un periodo di pausa dal Tour per incidere alcuni demo che andranno a definire il loro nuovo album in uscita prossimamente. Billie, ha affermato:

Abbiamo fatto qualche registrazione a Berlino, Stoccolma, Glasgow e Amsterdam. Volevamo fissare un abbozzo dei pezzi, e presto faremo un nuovo album.

Ecco arrivare nuove premiazioni. Infatti, come ogni anno, la New Musical Express ha organizzato il suo Gala di premiazione. Bisogna ricordare, però, che la NME è una delle più prestigiose riviste musicali britanniche. NME, è una vera e propria guida alla conoscenza delle nuove tendenze. Un loro articolo è davvero un successo assicurato ed è per questo, che la rivista continua ad avere successo in tutto il mondo. La cerimonia si svolgerà il 24 febbraio alla O2 Brixton Academy di Londra e si potrà assistere alle esibizioni live delle Hole di Courtney Love, e i Babyshambles. Tra le nomination appare la nostra Lady Gaga nella categoria “Best Solo Artist”. Ma i veri protagonisti saranno gli Arctic Monkeys con ben 5 nomination, rispettivamente nelle categorie: “Best British Band”, “Best Live Band”, “Best Album”, “Best Track” e “Best Video”.

E’ proprio vero. L’Heineken Jammin Festival, tornerà a Luglio 2010 sempre a Mestre, nel Parco San Giuliano. Dopo la clamorosa assenza dello scorso anno, dovuta a qualche problema. ma con lo sponsor che da il nome alla manifestazione. Infatti, lo scorso anno giravano voci su alcuni problemi di organizzazione, che avevano reso impossibile programmare uno dei principali Festival musicali italiani. La prossima edizione, invece, verrà alla luce il primo week end del mese di Luglio e la località sarà ovviamente Mestre. Prime Star sul palco del festival, saranno i Pearl Jam, che hanno da poco spostato una data del loro Tour da Udine a Mestre. Oltre ai Pearl Jam, potrebbero partecipare anche: Green Day, gli Aerosmith, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Placebo, The Gossip e Killers, Iron Maiden, Scorpions e Manowar. Vasco Rossi, abituè del Festival, probabilmente per questa edizione non potrà partecipare a causa dei suoi impegni con il tour “Indoor”. Ma di sicuro, è ancora presto per avere una lista completa degli Artisti che parteciperanno all’Heineken Jammin Festival.

Anche i Green Day, famosa band statunitense ha voluto ritagliarsi un proprio spazio nel mondo dei videogiochi.

Dopo i tanti videogiochi musicali dedicati alle più grandi band del mondo, anche i Green Day avranno il loro videogames. Stiamo parlando di Rock Band, fortunato videogioco che ci ha regalato momenti indimenticabili con le loro versioni dedicate ai Beatles e ai AC/DC.

L’edizione di Rock Band: Green Day uscirà nel 2010 e sarà commercializzato da Mtv Games, proprio come le precedenti versioni. Inoltre, Il gioco sarà disponibile per Playstation 3, Xbox 360 e Wii.

L’idea per questo videogioco è di Billie Joe Armstrong, leader del gruppo, che durante un’intervista per la famosa radio americana KROQ.

Il cantante è riuscito solo a dire:

Sì, stiamo facendo un intero Green Day Rock Band…

Subito dopo questa frase il pubblico presente nella sala di registrazione ha interrotto Billy con un lunghissimo applauso.

Alla notizia dell’uscita del videogioco il componente della band Slash ha sottolineato che ormai è troppo vecchio per giocare a Rock Band, ma l’idea è stupenda.

Anche Alex Rigopulos, co-fondatore dell’azienda che produce il videogioco, ha dichiarato:

Questo gioco va preso come una naturale estensione dei Green Day e della loro musica che stabilirà un ulteriore connessione coi fan della band.

Nei prossimi giorni i Green Day saranno impegnati nelle riprese del video di 21 Guns, ultimo singolo estratto dal recente album 21st Century Breakdown.

Il singolo, nella sua parte musicale, verrà nuovamente registrata assieme al cast del musical American Idiot, in scena a Berkeley e in dirittura d’arrivo anche a Broadway. Questa nuova versione di 21 Guns verrà trasmessa dalle radio a fine mese.

“21 Guns” è il secondo singolo estratto da “21st Century Breakdown”, ottavo album in studio dei Green Day. Il pezzo è stato rilasciato nei negozi digitali il 25 maggio mentre il video e il cd singolo sono stati pubblicato il 21 giugno. La canzone farà anche parte della colonna sonora del film “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” e di quella del videogame Rock Band.
